In September 2022, INDIGO, a commercial complex situated in the northeast Beijing, celebrated its 10th birthday. The development has witnessed the transformation of the Jiangtai area from a place with little large-scale commercial projects to a new business and lifestyle destination. To celebrate the anniversary milestone, INDIGO produced an oral history documentary, presenting its extraordinary journey of becoming an urban landmark.

INDIGO's story began in 2008, when Sino-Ocean Group and Swire Properties officially kicked off its development. At the end of its first decade, INDIGO announced its anniversary celebration tagline “Inspiration at every turn.” Apart from introducing popular and high-performing brands that improve urban lifestyle quality, INDIGO has also enriched its visitors' cultural and social lives by organising various crossover activities and IP shows. INDIGO also made great explorations in fields of environmental protection and community integration during the first decade. INDIGO phase II will open gradually from 2025. Upon completion of phase II, the greater INDIGO project will become one of the largest, highest quality and most functionally diverse commercial clusters within Beijing's fifth ring road.

INDIGO phase II will inherit the pursuit of environment protection and sustainability from the phase I, incorporating nature into the core of its public space. The space situated on the boundary of the project's east and south sides and close to the Bahe River will become INDIGO's new green space. Upon the completion of the expansion, INDIGO will have new riverside landscapes, which will provide refreshing experiences to people who work, shop and live in surrounding communities.
