Swire Hotels to achieve three sustainable development goals and open about 20 new hotels by 2030

Given the growing demand for sustainable development and public welfare in the Chinese Mainland market, Swire Hotels plans to achieve three sustainable development goals by 2030. Dean Winter, Managing Director at Swire Hotels, said the Chinese Mainland market is a major focus of the group. In order to minimise carbon footprints from three dimensions – energy conservation, water saving and waste management – Swire Hotels has developed corresponding KPIs for 2030. New goals include reducing energy usage per guest night across all properties by 26%; reducing water intensity in all properties by 12%; and achieving a waste diversion rate of 34%% at Hong Kong properties and 58% at Chinese Mainland properties respectively.

Swire Hotels is also planning to keep expanding the brand layout and presence of The House Collective and EAST Hotels, aiming to add about 20 new stores by 2030. Two new hotels under The House Collective, which are currently under construction in Shenzhen Bay and Tokyo, are scheduled to open in 2025 and 2027 respectively.
