Swire Properties celebrates 50th anniversary with bespoke arts programmes

To celebrate the Company's 50th anniversary, Swire Properties has launched an exciting line-up of world-class arts programmes featuring collaborations with renowned and up-and-coming artists, in the campaign themed "ORIGINAL. ALWAYS".

Tim Blackburn, Chief Executive of Swire Properties, said that originality and creativity are integral parts of the Company's placemaking efforts and such an approach has inspired the Company to enrich local neighbourhoods and make art and culture a part of everyday life over the past half century.

A new sculpture named "Shelf II" by internationally renowned contemporary artist Antony Gormley is set to be added to Swire Properties' permanent art collection, and will be displayed at Taikoo Place for the community to enjoy after the completion of the Taikoo Place redevelopment project. Later this year, a limited-edition 50th Anniversary Art NFT Collection, specially created together with 10 local and international digital artists, will be available as free art drops. In addition, an immersive space-travel-themed installation named "Orbstellar Metaspace" will appear at Pacific Place starting this summer, allowing audiences to experience the wonders and mysteries of the galaxy.

To celebrate 10 years of collaboration with Art Basel Hong Kong, the Swire Properties' VIP lounge will feature a custom-made space designed by local architectural studio ESKYIU. Meanwhile, critically acclaimed exhibition "Bags: Inside Out" by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, will continue its tour across the Company's retail centres in the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong as a kick-off of the Company's 50th anniversary celebratory programme.
