Eight university students are taking the lead to design, plan and execute the entire White Christmas Street Fair this year. Having gone through a half-year apprenticeship offered by the Swire Properties Placemaking Academy (SPPA), the students received trainings and lectures from the Company’s management and industry leaders, enabling them to curate the Street Fair with their original ideas and creativity. In an interview, some of the participating students shared that they are grateful for this rare opportunity, in which they could take the lead in organising a large-scale event and apply their learnings at university in real life. They added that the experience at SPPA will be very beneficial for their future careers.

Themed “Bloom & Beyond”, this year’s White Christmas Street Fair will be hosted from 1 to 4 December 2022 at Taikoo Place. Visitors will be surrounded by 5,000 “Re-poinsettias” upcycled from used fabric collected from Cathay Pacific and Swire Hotels, showcasing Swire Properties’ commitment to sustainability. The Street Fair will also feature 29 booths for Christmas shopping.
