At the 2022 Boao Real Estate Forum, Richard Hui, Director of Technical Services & Sustainable Development (Chinese Mainland) at Swire Properties, said Swire Properties has a vision of becoming the leading sustainable development performer in the industry globally by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2050. He also shared that the Company has adopted a sustainable development concept instead of the ESG, and that governance is the most challenging part of ESG.

Hui revealed that about 40% of Swire Properties' bonds and loans were from green finance as of 31 May 2022. In 2022, Swire Properties completed three sustainability-linked loans and raised RMB 3 billion. By 2025, at least 50% of bonds and loans will be from green finance, and by 2030, the proportion will rise to 80%.
