Swire Properties adopts green performance tenant initiative

Cushman and Wakefield recently published a report on sustainability and ESG in the property market. The firm concluded that buildings with green certifications have higher rental levels (+5 to 25%) and occupancy rates (+3 to 5%). The report cited that Swire Properties has offered its tenants green performance collaborations since as early as 2021, while Henderson Land also began its ESG partnership scheme in May this year.

Separately, the Green Building Council said a green lease would effectively help lower energy consumption, thereby creating a greener future. It cited the "Green Performance Pledge" initiative offered by the Company as an example of the basic premise of a green lease that helps drive tenants’ sustainability performance.
