Building on the premise of a green lease, Swire Properties has launched the "Green Performance Pledge" (GPP) that covers the entire tenancy cycle in the areas of fit-out and operations.

Don Taylor, Director, Office at Swire Properties, said that the GPP programme has signed up 33 tenants – or 21.7% of occupied lettable floor area from its Hong Kong office portfolio – since its launch in August 2021. Focusing on reducing energy, water usage and waste, the initiative provides tools and assistance for tenants to improve their sustainability performance. Tenants taking part in the programme would also gain access to free energy audits as well as installation of water metres and waste-monitoring technologies provided by the Company.

Through participating in the GPP, a Taikoo Place tenant was able to fit-out over half of its office with reused furniture and reduce the energy use intensity by a fifth compared to its previous premises.
