Swire Properties participated in the "Workshop on Regulation of Disposable Plastic Tableware and Other Plastic Products" organised by the Environment Protection Department and Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency.

Fiona Shiu, Director, TSSD & Facilities Management, said the Company expressed full support for the Government’s plan to regulate the use of disposable plastic tableware and other plastic products. The Company’s restaurants, hotels and office buildings will use different measures, including waste reduction, reuse, replacement and recycling, to ensure compliance with the new policy and contribute to eco-responsibility. She also shared that Swire Properties successfully piloted Hong Kong’s first smart reusable cup program at Taikoo Place in 2020, which prevented the disposal of over 20,000 single-use coffee cups over a span of three years.
