Swire Properties Placemaking Academy (SPPA) has selected 10 students from local universities, along with seven secondary students hand-picked by the E-League Programme of the Eastern District Office, to plan and execute the White Christmas Street Fair 2023. Throughout the summer, students attended masterclasses and mentorship sessions to prepare for the chocolate-themed holiday extravaganza running from 30 November–3 December, and 8–10 December 2023 at Taikoo Place. In addition, the seven secondary school students will partner with the SPPA team to manage digital communication for the Christmas event.

May Lam-Kobayashi, Deputy Director, Public Affairs, said that the SPPA is an immersive programme under Swire Properties’ signature youth empowerment initiative. It is designed to share the Company’s extensive industry knowledge and experience with future generations. Witnessing the participants’ enthusiasm for and growth through the programme, the Company decided to extend the programme to include secondary school students for the first time this year, aiming to inspire young individuals to explore their potential and connect with the community at an early age. A total of 58 students have participated in the programme since its inception in 2019. She added that the programme has been mutually beneficial, as the Company shares its skills and experience while also gaining inspiration from the students’ creativity.
