Olympic medallist among adventurers taking on "HK VERTICAL 1000" challenge
Olympic medal-winning cyclist Sarah Lee descended from the 36th floor of the 68-storey One Island East in Quarry Bay as part of a charity abseiling challenge to raise funds for Outward Bound Hong Kong’s youth development programmes. The activity was supported by Swire Properties. Lee was among 31 adventurers, including Tim Blackburn, Chief Executive, Don Taylor, Director, Office of Swire Properties, and other office tenants at Taikoo Place, who accepted the "HK VERTICAL 1000" challenge, which was inaugurated in 2017.
Taylor said that the initiative provided tenants with an unforgettable experience while also raising funds for a great cause. It also reminds future generations about the importance of perseverance in facing life’s numerous challenges. He also thanked Taikoo Place tenants who generously donated their time, effort and resources to make this event possible. The Company will continue to curate engaging programmes at Taikoo Place in the future, further enhancing the vibrancy of the global business district and providing an environment where people can thrive.
