Swire Properties expects sales boost for Savyavasa after policy easing
Swire Properties is set to kick off a sales roadshow for its Indonesian residential project Savyavasa in Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, Singapore and other cities in Southeast Asia in the first quarter of 2024. This follows Jakarta's move to ease property purchase requirements for foreign investors by eliminating the need for a special stay permit. As of late October 2023, the joint venture luxury property project has pre-sold about 69 units.
Adrian To, Director, Residential, welcomes the Indonesian government's latest initiative, which makes it much easier for foreigners to obtain property ownership rights in the country, and will benefit the Savyavasa project. He believes that the easing greatly broadens the target consumer base for residential developments, especially those featuring quality designs and amenities highly sought after by international buyers and expatriates residing in the country. An additional advantage is that foreign passport holders do not need to pay extra purchase duties or taxes.
