Pacific Place brings art to the community

Angelle Le, director of Art Basel Hong Kong, shared that the Asian market has become as important as those in Europe and the US in the art industry. Hong Kong will continue to play a central role with its well-established transportation link and free duty policy. She also said that local collectors are interested in connecting with international art galleries, which helps attract art galleries and collectors to visit Hong Kong. Le noted that in 2023, the installation Gravity by American artist Awol Erizku was displayed at Pacific Place as part of Art Basel Hong Kong’s programme. This marked the first time an artwork was presented beyond the exhibition halls, enabling the public to engage with art outside the fair. She stated that this initiative aligns with Art Basel’s goal of bringing art into everyday life and making it more accessible.

Art Basel Hong Kong will return for its 11th edition from 26 to 30 March 2024, with full plans set to be announced in early 2024.
