Cityplaza hosts exhibition to raise stroke awareness
Swire Properties’ Community Ambassador Programme, HKU Stroke, The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation and the Hong Kong Stroke Association are collaborating to hold the "Together We Care for Stroke" exhibition at Cityplaza from 27–29 October 2023. In support of World Stroke Day on 29 October, this event aims to raise awareness about stroke prevention and management while providing community support for stroke patients and caregivers.
Dr Gary Lau, Clinical Associate Professor in Neurology and Director of HKU Stroke, and the University of Hong Kong (HKU) team will provide free health check-ups and consultations during the event. Furthermore, local illustrator Nothing Serious has created a collection of 17 paintings depicting stories from stroke patients and caregivers.
In addition, 100 sets of OMRON Bluetooth blood pressure monitors will be available for purchase at a discounted price of HKD300 each to raise funds for The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation. Visitors can will also have the opportunity to utilise the latest Smart Rehab mobile app, developed by the Sports AI Laboratory at HKU’s Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in collaboration with the Society for Rehabilitation and HKU Stroke. The app aims to support patients and families in the recovery and rehabilitation process with innovative technologies.
