In 2023, 13 Swire Properties developments were certified under the "Zero-Carbon-Ready Building Certification Scheme" by the Hong Kong Green Building Council, making it the most awarded developer under the scheme. Among the awarded projects, One Island East received the "Target Setting Certification", recognising the Company’s significant role in setting industry standards as a leading developer.

Raymond Yau, General Manager of Technical Services & Sustainable Development, said participants in the scheme undergo a comprehensive assessment based on the framework set by the Council. The assessment considers factors such as embodied carbon intensity, energy utilisation index (EUI) of buildings, office premises surveys and BEAM Plus submissions. The EUI standards are categorised into four levels, ranging from low to zero-carbon-ready, providing guidance to developers in achieving carbon emission targets while obtaining certifications.
