Hong Kong Green Building Council has launched the first HKGBC Retrofitting Guidebook to promote carbon reduction in Hong Kong and around the world. The guidebook highlights 10 areas where energy-saving renovation technologies can be applied, including car parks, heating systems and exterior walls. The Dorset House at Taikoo Place is featured as a case study for an energy-saving building. Swire Properties replaced the property’s primary air units with 56 air chiller systems, which resulted in a 30% to 40% reduction in electricity consumption.
