In July 2023, Swire Properties will be participating in the "Zero-Carbon-Ready Building Certification Scheme" with nine other leading developers in Hong Kong. The scheme is part of Hong Kong’s first-ever "Climate Change Framework for Built Environment", launched by the Hong Kong Green Building Council to assist the industry in setting net zero carbon goals; reporting environmental, social and governance achievements; justifying green finance requirements; and disclosing climate risk strategies.

The framework will be an adaptable yet reliable resource to support the building sector in its transition towards carbon neutrality and climate resilience over time. It will achieve this by promoting best practices, establishing performance benchmarks, setting goals on carbon reduction and reducing carbon emissions associated with material production by 2030. Furthermore, the framework aims to help companies achieve net zero emissions associated with materials by 2050.
