At the Green and Sustainable Banking Conference organised by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Patrick Ho, Deputy Head, Sustainable Development at Swire Properties, said that the Company has committed to a series of 1.5°C-aligned science-based targets, paving the way to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. He also mentioned that the Company’s New Ventures team specialises in identifying emerging trends and accelerating the adoption of innovative solutions. This team creates strategic value for the Company by trialling best-in-class technologies that can enhance business competitiveness and efficiency. As part of this initiative, a USD50 million venture fund has been established to invest in technology startups globally, with a specific focus on areas such as "PropTech", the office of the future, smart building solutions and hotel integration.
