Swire Properties launched the Green Performance Pledge in 2021 to help enhance tenant collaboration and promote office tenants' sustainability performance. Two years after the launch of the programme, which builds on the principles of a green lease, nearly 70 tenants have signed up across the Company's Hong Kong office portfolio. These tenants represent around 44% of the occupied lettable floor area. The initiative covers the entire tenancy cycle, which include the areas of office fit-out and operations, and has an emphasis on reducing energy, water consumption and waste generation. On average, participating tenants diverted around 33% of their waste from landfills in the period from April 2022 to March 2023.

Don Taylor, Director of Office, said that the Company will introduce more initiatives to give tenants new tools to meet and potentially exceed their ESG goals. By 2025, Swire Properties aims to have half of its office tenants in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland join the programme.
